Festival of Sails 2018

Festival of Sails 2018

Friday 26th January 2018 to Sunday 28th January 2018.

The Festival of Sails brings all the colour of the Southern Hemisphere's largest keelboat regatta to the sparkling waters of Geelong's Corio Bay in January.

One of Australia's oldest sporting events, the Royal Geelong Yacht Club's Festival of Sails is a favourite among the country's sailors, attracting more than 300 entries and 3,000 competitors annually.

The Festival of Sails is equally loved for its iconic Shoreside Festival, a free community celebration that brings to life the Geelong Waterfront with market stalls, live music and entertainment, exciting food options such as gourmet food vans and the glittering spectacle of a waterfront fireworks display!

Since 1844, the Festival of Sails has played a key part in the Victorian and Australian yachting calendar. Highly competitive and diverse, the event caters to all levels of sailing from high performance racing machines to family cruisers.

Evolving over the years, to culminate in its' current format, the Festival of Sails is an iconic and fun-filled event. It offers something that no other regatta in Australia does, combining first-class racing with a brilliant Shoreside Festival, which sees 100,000 visitors flock to the stunning Geelong waterfront to soak up the summer atmosphere.

Whether you are a sailor, or prefer your feet on more solid ground, this event provides something for everyone to enjoy.

In 2018 the Festival of Sails will celebrate it's 175th anniversary, with a huge celebration and historic displays to commemorate this iconic sailing regatta.

Join us for the 175th Festival of Sails.
